MKCA Newsletter - Eleventh Edition

January - February   2007

We Owe a huge thank you to 'youth bank' and those cheerleaders who applied for funding for new kits, which we will be ordering shortly. We are currently in the process of reapplying for funding towards a trailer - to store our mats and kits in. (Thank you Anita for letting us use your garage in the meantime)

Hi All,

What a fantastic team!

Just to update you, this month alone MKCA has needed to expand our training times to accommodate for our 25 strong senior squad and ever growing junior/pewee squad of 20.

Our stunt technique is the best it has ever been! With new members slotting into and keeping up with the high standards set by our more experienced members. We are so proud of you all!

The monthly workshops are now well underway, alongside regular gymnastic sessions, where our cheerleaders have come on leaps and bounds already. Which is lucky, seeing as there is only three workshops left until our first competition of the year.

The dance choreography is storming on and dance members are being constantly pushed in order to keep to the highest of standards. Thank you dancers, for all your hard work and commitment. It won't be long before we can share your hard work at this years local events and festivals.

You can keep updated by having a copy of this years events to hand, or by logging onto the MKCA website.

The more practice you get at events the easier it will be for you to perform to your highest standards as a team, by gaining support and inspiration from the local community.

We can't wait to see you guys out there!

Keep cheering

ARTS AWARD

Staff members Amy and Jackie returned as newly qualified arts advisors, for the Arts Award scheme, on Wednesday; After attending a course in Brighton, funded by Stantonbury Campus. We will therefore, be looking at the possibility of registering MKCA as an Arts Centre. This will  give students the opportunity to gain GCSE - A'level equivalents in a performing arts subject of their choice.

We will keep you updated!
